A sustainable way to connect solar energy companies in Germany’s capital with international talent able to power the Solarcity Masterplan.
greentech.training is pleased to announce the Solar Catalyst Program designed to link international green technicians on refugee status in Berlin with companies working to reduce humanity’s carbon footprint. The community integrated initiative aims to bring solar technicians, installers and project planners able to help the city reach its 2045 solar energy targets together with solar firms operating in the Berlin and Brandenburg area. If you are an installation company seeking EuP and EffT equivalent technicians, as well as other tradespeople able to power the transition, please get in touch. Applications details and a starting list of professions can be found in the FAQs below.

The Solar Catalyst Program is designed to give security to both qualified and semi-skilled workers on refugee status and solar companies seeking staff. Listed here are several frequently asked questions about the process. If you have another that is not addressed here, please get in touch.
We are currently focused on pairing those already holding international qualifications and living in Germany with local solar energy firms. The areas of focus are as follows:
We can support in the preparation of documents for professional recognition process if this is required by the partnering firm.
We will soon be able to support those looking to enter the industry as a career changer. A German language level of at least B1.2 is usually required but some exceptions may apply.
Anyone over the age of 18 living in Berlin or Brandenburg with the means to travel, if applicable, can apply with one of regional partners including Arrivo, Club Dialog and Einstieg für Aufstieg.
Applicants from those with refugee status looking to commence full-time work in solar energy are welcomed.
During the consultation with our migrant organisation partner, or shortly thereafter, each applicant's CV will be uploaded to our secure server. Soon after, you will receive a data release link that will allow us to share your details with a partnering solar firm upon their request. In some cases we may also contact you directly to request an intro video or potentially a pre-screening interview online.
Note that the time from application to potential contact is dependent on client vacancies.
There is no fee for applicants.
The Solar Catalyst Program was launched to help Berlin reach its target for powering at least 25% of the city with solar energy by 2045.
The program is open to all applicants who meet the criteria listed above, but is primarily aimed at supporting those on refugee status in the Berlin/Brandenburg region.
The interconnective approach enables us to provide a formalised and trusted process that is recognised by regional solar energy partners looking for workers able to assist the energy transition.
This clear solar energy focus also helps to provide a level of security for applicants with German residency renewable obligations.
greentech.training can further support both parties with long-term integrative services such as professional recognition documentation preparation, supporting letters of reference for visa renewal, as well as online training for cross-cultural communication, mental health promotion and worker retention for companies.
