Answers to some frequently asked questions. Please contact us if your question is not addressed.
We are continually refining our service portfolio to ensure exceptional customer service from initial contact to placement and beyond. Here are some questions about our community integrated approach answered.
We offer elementary to advanced technical German training for green energy professionals as well as bespoke training based on a company’s requirements. We also offer Insight Seminars in English to prepare new staff in specific areas of the energy transitions, including offshore wind project management, decarbonisation strategies and biophilic design for HR. Working with local training providers such as RelyOn Nutec, we can also develop upskilling programs for clients who need their staff to meet specific safety requirements prior to starting. This can include EuP, Efft, GWO and further industry-specific safety and training qualifications.
The Bridging Program is German professional fluency training offered in six intensive Learning Blocks consisting of 72 x 45 minute teaching units. Each Learning Block takes the candidate to the next CEF sublevel (for example A1.0 to A1.1, then A1.1 to A1.2). Six Learning Blocks are required to advance from no understanding to basic professional fluency (B1.2) or a total of 432 teaching units. The program concludes with integration and interview training to enable a smooth integration into the German workforce.
Technicians with mechanical, electrical or automisation backgrounds interested in working in green energy fields such as offshore and onshore wind, solar, hydrogen and geothermal. It can also include project managers, planners, geotechnicians, electricians and other specialists working at the nexus of food, energy and water. Check our jobs page for an overview of those professions we accept as part of our Bridging Program.
Bridging Program: Applicants with less than a B1.2 level of German may opt for professional proficiency language training as a paid upskilling service with greentech.training. This service is only offered to qualified green technicians who can later be placed with our partner firms.
Post-partner-interview: Partner companies can request our Tailored Onboarding service where hired candidates receive remote training in project management and other skills specifically required by the firm. In some case this may include visa sponsorship as part of the Fast Track visa.
Germany is currently restructuring its immigration laws for skilled labour. The details of the points-based program have been outlined here. German and English language skills will be assessed in the rating, as will years of experience, qualifications and other non-skill factors. It is therefore suggested the visa application occurs after A2 to increase chances of acceptance.
Professional fluency and communication training takes place online. Where partner companies require upskilling or safety training to start employment (GWO, Efft and EuP), training may take place onsite with a local certified training partner such as RelyOn Nutec in Germany. Partner company's may conduct training via the Tailored Onboarding service online.
No German is necessary, but CEF B2 English and a degree or significant experience in any of the jobs listed on our site is required. Applications can be made from outside of Germany for the Bridging Program.
We serve all companies with projects or services that seek to support the purpose and aim of § 1(1) German Renewable Energy Sources Act 2014. This includes heat pump installers, solar distribution and installation companies, offshore and onshore wind companies, and many more. Our core focus is serving companies in the clusters of which we are a part.
Once a green technician has reached a level of CEF B1.2 professional fluency and passed our examination, we can add them to our pool to be presented to German firms looking for qualified technicians. At this point or earlier, we may request the candidate answer questions set by companies as a form of pre-screening. If the technician can demonstrate proficiency in the skills required by the company, they may be asked for an online interview. This can occur while the candidate is still in their home country. We seek to introduce the candidate to companies once they have completed their interview training but in some cases may introduce specific professionals (such as electrical engineers and electricians) before the commencement of the program so as to acquire the candidate a sponsored work permit. If interviews are unsuccessful or are not requested by client firms, we can continue to support the candidate during their move to Germany to seek work as part of our Extending Bridging Service that connects them to our network of German accommodation, upskilling and community partners.
No. greentech.training offers its services to ensure those accepted into our Bridging Program receive all the training and workplace preparation they need to succeed in an interview with a German firm, regardless if the interview is set up by greentech.training. We charge client companies Sourcing and Screening fees for successfully placed candidates, and are therefore interested in recruiting the most qualified and employable candidates possible for our Bridging Program. But because the final employment decision lies in the hands of our partner companies, we do not and cannot guarantee jobs. We do, however, aim to ensure each international candidate is in the best position possible to acquire a job.
