European Solar PV Industry Alliance

we're helping to close the skills gap in solar

Skills in the solar sector are urgently needed. greentech.training is accelerating the learning curve.

greentech.training will support the European Solar PV Industry Alliance (ESIA) as a founding working group member to help identify barriers, opportunities and investment possibilities in Europe’s solar PV value chain.

Launched by the EU in late 2022 and led by EIT InnoEnergy, ESIA will examine ways to accelerate industrial projects while also addressing circularity and sustainability and the impact on skills in Europe’s solar industry.

One of the concrete goals of the Alliance is to facilitate the creation of 30,000 new jobs in the solar sector across the Union by 2027. In addition, the Alliance will aim to implement a strategic action plan based on:

  • identifying manufacturing scale-up bottlenecks and providing recommendations
  • facilitating access to finance, including by establishing commercialisation pathways for PV manufacturing
  • providing a framework for cooperation on the development and uptake
  • maintaining international partnerships and resilient global supply chains
  • supporting solar PV research and innovation
  • facilitating and increasing communication on circularity and sustainability
  • exploring and developing a skilled workforce for the PV manufacturing sector

greentech.training’s contribution will focus on the skills development of international green collar workers and their integration into Europe’s solar ecosystem.

About ESIA

ESIA undertakes to unite businesses and other stakeholders interested in supporting European solutions to increase the production capacity of PV panels and components in the EU. One aspect of this is to diversify supply sources for products, components and raw materials.

The Alliance is open to all public and private entities with relevant activities in the area of solar PV, including companies and associations, social partners, education and training providers, research and technology organisations, investors, civil society organisations, and representatives of EU regional and public authorities.
